The Student Leadership Conference (SLC) is an opportunity for current and future college students to:

• Connect with peers from across the country
• Learn useful tools to empower your transition into college life
• Expand your potential to serve as student advocates and leaders in the growing field of inclusive higher education

The SLC is committed to centering the voices, wisdom, and experiences of college students with intellectual disability. The SLC is open to all students, with an emphasis on young adults who are transitioning into college and current college students. The focus is on students with intellectual disability and their peers, including traditionally enrolled friends, classmates, and mentors.

Conference Topics

• Academics: class mentors, study skills, cool classes to take, course modifications, or working with faculty.
• Advocacy! Advocacy! Advocacy!
• Health: mental health, nutrition and exercise at college, or dealing with illness while at college.
• Internships and employment: working with a job coach, getting a job, or workplace accommodation.
• Relationships: dating etiquette and consent, friendships, or conflict and communication
• Social life: on- and off-campus events, clubs and organizations, or greek life.
• Other ideas like technology (apps), getting into college, life after college, or dealing with tough times.
